We convert Regular 8mm, Super 8mm and 16mm film to digital. Your films are delivered on a DVD master and as a computer file. All footage is condensed as much as possible cutting out leaders, unexposed sections, etc.

Regular 8mm/SUPER 8 FILM

Most home films are 8mm. Regular 8mm dates back to the early 1930s. Super 8mm came onto the market in 1965. All Regular 8mm and most Super 8mm film are silent.

Super 8mm films starting around the 1970s may have sound. Sound film will have an amber stripe along the film’s edge.

The common 8mm film comes on a 50ft reel which is about 3 inches wide. The films may have been loaded onto 100, 200, 300 or even 400ft reels for more convenient play back.

16MM FILM

Developed in 1923, 16mm film was used mostly by professionals and for large scale distribution of films.

However, some home movies were recorded on this more expensive and larger format. We can transfer silent 16MM and optical sound 16MM film.
